3D-PRINTING

CT-Guidelines

General guidelines

Use minimal slice thickness available

Try to orientate the bones of interest perpendicular to the CT gantry

Always upload the complete DICOM series

Please always define the region of interest (ROI)

Specific guidelines

For limb deformities please also scan the contralateral limb

Please include the joints proximal and distal to the bone of interest

For contrast studies please include pre AND post contrast series

3D-printed models of bones usually have a higher resolution than those of soft tissue

3D-prints from scans with higher slice thicknesses are possible but the quality may be reduced
